This is an English fowler that I built for myself. It won a 1st place Masters Cat. at the Gunfair at Dixons for engraving. The details: a TAKE-DOWN cherry stock, Colerain Griffin barrel in 16 gauge, Rifle Shoppe Ketland hardware and lock (from castings). The decorations and engravings are inspired by the best English makers such as Durs Egg, D. Moore, Moses Brent (see the John Bennet pistol pair), that used a more representational/less stylistic floral style. By removing only the rear wedge the barrel and fore-end can be removed from the butt stock. The fragile fore-end is never without the barrel for support when the gun is apart for cleaning or transport.
